Keep the ones you've assigned to sound events and any that you actually listen to, then move the rest to floppies. dll's in a separate folder until you're sure you don't need 'emĨ.
You can find programs at NONAGS and other sites to help you locate duplicates and even to help you spot unused. dll with the same name but a different date in a program's folder and it's 15kb, you can be pretty darned sure you aren't looking at the same file. dll file in C:\Windows\System and it's 600kb and you find a. You can also consolidate other file types found in the Windows\System subfolder. If you have multiple copies with different dates, save the older copies in case a program needs those (none of mine has). dll files, placing one copy in the Windows\System folder where all your programs will share a single copy. Leave the Windows\Sysbckup folder alone but consolidate your other. Unless you have a good sound system, they sound like they were created in a Campbell's Soup can though TrayPlay is good little program to use if you have some midi files that sound decentħ. Clean out the C:\Windows\Temp folder, just leave any files the computer won't part with yet.Ħ.
